What is your favorite part of working for FOSS?
Getting to see kids every day at work!
What is your favorite level/age/progression to teach and why?
Little 1 and Little 2 because kids make such big progress going from being afraid of the water to loving the water.
What is your favorite skill to teach?
Pirate eye because it is easy to make the skill fun with different stories each time.
What is your favorite swim lesson activity to do with kids and why?:
Rings with flippers because kids are always so proud of themselves and how far they can go with flippers on while holding their breath.
Can you recount a student of yours who experienced a major “lightbulb” moment when you were with them?
A swimmer in one of my Little 2 classes has been working on safety, listening and waiting her turn and has had a hard time communicating and said “island” for the first time, a word she has never said before. Parents were through the moon excited and it put all three of us into tears.
