Share your favorite FOSS story:
Any lightbulb moment – but especially an adult class I had where the woman cried her first day in the water, I had her on a noodle for the first few weeks and we worked on building her confidence. By the end of the session, she was swimming the entire length. Watching the shame she felt turn into strength and confidence was amazing.
What is your personal favorite water activity?:
Paddle Boarding!
Can you recount a student of yours who experienced a major “lightbulb” moment when you were with them? What was it? How did the child react? How did the parent react? What was your reaction?
I had a BI barely putting her eyes in the water – she was terrified. Never wanted to let me go the first few weeks. When I finally got her doing not only her Frank and Murrays to the island, but also mastering her flip, both her parents started clapping. The look of pure pride she had was by far one of the best reactions to get while teaching.
