What is your favorite part of working for Foss?:
Interacting with the kids and the parents!
What is your favorite FOSS story?
Seeing one of the students I teach *finally* get his pancake flips. We had been working on the skill for awhile and just randomly one day, he did a complete pancake flip by himself! His parents and I were so happy seeing all the growth he’s made since they started swimming at FOSS.
What is your personal favorite water activity?
One of my favorite water activities is trying to make the whole length of the pool under water. When I was younger, my sisters and I would compete with my dad to see who could make it the furthest and he also taught us to swim—which makes it more meaningful.
Can you recount a student of yours who experienced a major “lightbulb” moment when you were with them?
There was a baby in my class last session who finally got her eyes in by herself and when she got back up she gave me the biggest hug and had the biggest smile on her face. Mom jumped up and down cheering on her daughter, seeing how much she had grown in such a short session.
