What is your favorite part of working for Foss?:

The co-workers and the kids!

What is your favorite FOSS story?

I had a really hard day and when I came into work, I was able to get a huge hug from my co-workers. When I got into the pool, my outside life faded away and I was able to really love and help all of my students. I ended up with having a good day due to all of my kids and they all made me smile and laugh and shake my head at all the crazy stories.

What is your personal favorite water activity?

I love hanging out with my friends at a pool, just relaxing and talking about life. I love just being in the water but it has to be warm water—or I freeze!

Can you recount a student of yours who experienced a major “lightbulb” moment when you were with them?

Once I had a girl who had been struggling with her flip. I had talked to her mom about working on rolling around to help with the positioning. A few weeks later, she was able to do a flip all on her own. She was so happy to be able to flip all by herself, and mom and I were clapping and cheering. She was able to continue flipping all by herself for the rest of the session. Some days were hard but she worked on it every week, and she now comes to FOSS so excited to be in the pool.
