How long have you worked for FOSS?

9 years and counting.

What is your favorite part of working for FOSS?

My favorite part of working at FOSS is making relationships with all the kids and families inside and outside of the pool!

What is your favorite FOSS story?

That is a hard question! I think my favorite story about my time at FOSS might be one time I had a swimmer that had just moved from Middle 3 to a Middle 4, she was in one of our Fun Meets and was signed up to do the Butterfly even though she had never done the stoke before. So I swam over to her and gave her a quick 30 second lesson on how to do the Butterfly. She tried it and loved it! It seemed as if she never wanted to do any other strokes for the longest time. She now swims on a team and continues to love the butterfly.

What is your favorite skill to teach and why?

I would have to say that my favorite skill to teach would be Pizza Arms, because you can teach them to kids as young as Littles. They love finally being like the bigger kids and swimming to the bottom! I also love seeing kids get better at them through all the classes from diving for rings to stroke development. I would also say my favorite stroke would be Breaststroke.

What would tell parents about FOSS?

We all love what we do at FOSS! Parents that are hesitant about something about swimming whether it be the teacher, the class, the skills please give it a chance, more times than not the kids will overcome that fear!
