I’m interested, but I have no experience teaching kids to swim.

If you love working with kids or water or both, we’re the place for you! Our unique and comprehensive Swim Teacher training program will provide you with all of the skills you need to teach quality swimming lessons; focusing on the progressions of basic skills, technique, and water safety. Our teachers instruct children 6 months to 12 years old to develop their swim skills through the FOSS skill progressions. Small class sizes and warm water contribute to a comfortable environment for both swimmers and instructors. Your swimmers will have fun and you will too!

Does FOSS promote from within?

Great question! We are proud to employ a number of individuals who’ve built a lifelong career at FOSS, having progressed from instructor to school director, corporate positions or other opportunities within the company. While we are always on the lookout for new people to join our FOSS family, we also encourage and support career growth from within.

I submitted my resume or applied online. Now what?

Thanks for your interest! Our schools are constantly reviewing incoming resumes and applications, and you should get a response within 3-5 business days.

I want to work at a specific location, but I don’t see any openings.

Not to worry! We regularly recruit new employees for all of our locations as schedules change and staff moves occur. If you don’t see an opportunity now, check back soon —postings change frequently!

Do you have internships?

We don’t have a standardized internship program, but we have hired interns in the past who have demonstrated a desire to build a career at FOSS. If this sounds like you, please feel free to submit your resume!

What is a typical shift?

We teach when parents and children are available. That means we have evening, weekend, and daytime shifts. Schedules are generally set for 10-15 weeks based on the length of the quarter. For example, if you’re scheduled for a shift Monday evening from 4:00-8:00, that would be your schedule on Mondays for the following 15 weeks! Unlike many part-time jobs, there’s no calling in to check on your schedule for the following week, allowing you to plan your life accordingly.

What benefits do you offer?

We are proud to offer a generous package to our employees, including flexible schedules and free lessons. The benefits vary depending on the position, so you can learn more about our offerings by checking out our current opportunities.

What do I wear?

All swim teachers wear solid-colored navy or black tank suits or board shorts. Employees are responsible for providing their own suit, but we do have them available for purchase at the school. We also provide a rash guard for use while employed with us!
