How long have you worked for Foss?
Since February 2019. Before becoming a shift coordinator, I was a swim teacher!
What is your favorite age to teach?
I really enjoy teaching 10+. The students are so determined and work so hard to perfect their strokes.
What is your favorite skill to teach?
Harvester hands. I love seeing the smiles on our students’ faces as they learn how to swim and feel more independent.
Can you tell us your favorite FOSS story?
My first quarter teaching, I had a student that wouldn’t put his face in. We worked all quarter to be able to swim with his face in. The day that he put his face in the water from the bench to the island was such a big day. Mom and student were both so happy! We did a big splashy high five to celebrate.
What is your personal favorite water activity?
I enjoy boating during the summer with friends. While on the lake, I practice my strokes to become a better instructor.
What is your favorite part of working for FOSS?
My favorite part is being able to see the progress the swimmers have made over the quarter.
Is there anything else you’d like to share?
Thank you to the parents for allowing us to teach your children and making them safer swimmers!
