How long have you worked for FOSS?

Since April 2019.

What is your favorite part about working for FOSS?

Being in the water, teaching any age the very valuable life skill of swimming safely.

Tell us your favorite FOSS story.

There are so many! I love being a part of a student’s journey from disliking water to being obsessed with it. It’s so rewarding to give that confidence to them that they will have forever.

What is your favorite level to teach and why?

I really like teaching the younger kids. They get so excited over their accomplishments! It’s very fun to see.

As a child, how did you feel about the water?

I loved it! I was swimming before I could walk. We had a pool growing up and we used it all the time!

Can you recount a student of yours who experienced a major breakthrough moment when you were with them?

One of my students was doing Frank & Murray’s for the first time and absolutely nailed it. She was so excited! Mom had her proud mom face on—it was just awesome!

What is your favorite swim lesson activity to do with kids and why?

My older kids like “Tug-O-Swim.” We each get on a side of the magic carpet and kick as hard as we can, trying to move the other person backwards.

Anything else you really wish you could tell parents about you as they bring their children to FOSS?

We LOVE what we do!
