How long have you worked for FOSS?
Just a little over a year.

What is your favorite part of working for FOSS?
I’ve taught swimming several places, and love FOSS so much – it’s the best program I have taught. I have seen improvements from FOSS swimmers faster than I ever thought possible.

What is your favorite level to teach and why?
I love teaching the Middles because they are starting to understand the strokes and really want to learn.

What is your personal favorite water activity?
I love swimming in the pool with my kids. I have 3 – my twin boys are 5 and are in kindergarten and my daughter is 3. When we swim together, I love seeing them love the water as much as I do!

What is your favorite skill to teach?
Frank and Murrays with a side breath because it can be very tricky but when the kids get it they are on their way to swimming more efficient. I also actually like to teach kicking – I can talk to the kids about their day and really get to know them!

Can you recount a major “lightbulb” moment for a student of yours?
I remember working with a special needs adult, and the moment he finally put his face in and kicked at the same time gave me goosebumps. It was a lightbulb moment—I was proud of him, and he was so proud of himself. We kept high-fiving each other!

What was your most fulfilling achievement in the water?
I swam competitively in high school, and I was so honored to be voted in as a captain of the team.
