FOSS-St. Louis Park Fab 5!!
They’re Grade A
We would like to thank the 2011 Fall Session Fab 5′ers…
Patrick L. – My name is Patrick. I was born in Santa Cruz , CA in 1990. I am the youngest out of five children. My family and I moved to a small town in the panhandle of Florida called Baker in 1998. My wife and I moved to MN a little less than a year ago, we have been married for 2 years. I am a diver and have been SCUBA certified for a few years and absolutely love it. If I could live on an island in the middle of the ocean and dive every day for the rest of my life I would. One of my hobbies is the restoration of old cars. My dad and brothers and I have always been into old Volkswagens and we love fixing them up. I grew up working with children. My mom has had an at home day care since I was ten years old so I grew up helping her out and always being around children. When I was a teenager I helped out as a volunteer in my local kids’ ministry that involved regular service, productions, and special event days. Also since 2008 I have been an active youth leader for local youth groups in FL and MN so I have experience with a wide range of ages. I love teaching kids how to swim and believe that it is one of the most important skills a person can possess.
Amy G. - Hello Foss families! My name is Amy. You may recognize me from the front desk or the pool. I am originally from the Chicago area, but I have lived in Minnesota for most of my life. I have been on the Foss team for almost 9 years now! In that time, I have had the privilege to watch babies that I taught in Backfloat Baby classes grow up and progress through the program to the swim team! I have always loved the water, and still enjoy hanging out in the summer at the local pool with my family. When I am not at Foss or at the pool, I enjoy reading, gardening, watching my kids play sports, and studying at St. Kate’s to become a teacher. What I enjoy most about my time at Foss is hearing all the funny things that kids say, getting to know families and watching their kids grow through the years, and getting into a warm pool on a cold day!
Jared A. – Originally I grew up in Brooklyn Park. I decided to dedicate my life to helping the weak, less fortunate, and those who couldn’t help themselves and become a child psychologists. There are many reasons why I love being apart of the FOSS family but the most important is IT MAKES SENSE! When considering the affective, behavioral, and cognitive components of children and ALL human beings in general, every Foss drill and the way its executed is designed perfectly to build confidence and simultaneously enhance skill WHILE learning a valuable life-skill. My favorite hobby is sleeping : ) But when i’m not in the pool, or bed, you could find me skating circles around people at the park or falling down a mountain on my snowboard.
Jake A. – HHHHHEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYYYYY my name is Jake and I have been at Foss since November 2010. I enjoy working at Foss because everyday is different and I always learn something new. Some of my “likes” include: painting ceilings, sailing around the world with my friends Frank and Murray, cannonballs, diving for lost treasure, taking magic carpet rides, and of course singing the “ABC’s.” When I am not at Foss you can find me riding my Harley, volunteering for the police department, or playing the banjo!
Brooke B. – Hi, I’m Brooke! I’ve lived in the twin cities my whole life and I’ve worked at Foss for 3 years. I love swimming and I always have. I grew up living on a lake and I love spending time in the water. I took swimming lessons when I was little and I swam competitively for three years when I was in middle school and high school. I also did one year of synchronized swimming in middle school. My other hobbies include dancing, snowboarding, ice-skating, frisbee, and boating. I really enjoy working at Foss. I think it’s important for kids to learn how to swim and how to be safe while they are around water. It’s even better to do it while having a good time. It’s great being able to help kid’s progress and grow to love the water.
