Erik Bloom – Erik is a Field Manager and the Leadership Trainer for Foss Swim School Inc. In that capacity, he conducts weekly meetings with pool directors to look at management and leadership practices in the workplace. He also conducts qualitative and quantitative research on hiring practices, enrollment, and specific trends in the profitability of sites. His role in Leadership training incorporates the hiring, training, and professional development of employees. Mr. Bloom is an expert in the many facets of the company that he oversees. Over the past 11 years with Foss Swim School Inc, he has been an instructor (1998), pool manager (1999), country club pool director (1999-2000), Site Director (2001-2004),  Leadership Trainer (2005-2006), and currently holds dual roles as Field manager(2006-Present) and Leadership Trainer.

Jon Foss – Jon started Foss Swim School, with his wife Susan, in 1993. A life-long swimmer, competitor and coach, Jon is at home in a pool. He currently acts as the CEO but make sure to personally meet every new instructor during training sessions. Jon graces those he meets with his exuberant personality and puts the “fun” into FOSS.

Susan Foss – Susan has worked in the business from the start contributing mainly in office systems, marketing/advertising, general administration, personnel and management development. She and Jon have five children who keep both of them busy between work and home and provide most of Susan’s lessons regarding what works and doesn’t with kids and people… of all ages! Susan is from Rockford, Illinois, youngest of nine children, and huge fan of anything edible and horses. She graduated from Marquette University in 1989 with a BA in Communication and Advertising.

Beth Hicks – Beth has been with Foss Swim School since it’s inception. She currently works as the Human Resource Manager keeping all our i’s dotted and t’s crossed. She has two little boys that are excellent swimmers!

Michael Kratochwill – Hello! I’m Michael Kratochwill and have worked with FOSS since August 1998. I started as an instructor working part time and soon realized how much I enjoyed this young and emerging company. You can find me currently working on-line with our media needs and in the community giving safety swim speeches. Stephanie Kratochwill – Stephanie works as a Field Manager for Foss Swim School. She has been with FOSS from the start. She began with some pool hours here and office hours there and never looked back. Three daughters later she’s still running a tight ship.

Brett Maras – Brett is the Training Manager at FOSS. He’s responsible for our knowledgeable instructors and keeps his skills sharp by teaching lessons himself. You’ll know if he’s at your pool, he has the booming voice, laughing, swimming kids and grateful parents watching their children learn. He’s good.

Becky Muyres – Everybody knows Becky. She is the singsong voice on the end of most phone calls and our staff loves her. She’s our Payroll Manager and general all-around knowledge guru. Becky can help with most any problem and she does it with charm.

Craig O’Halloran – Craig is the recently appointed COO at Foss Swim School. Mr. O’Halloran joined FOSS in 2005 as Controller, and became Director of Corporate Operations and Finance in 2007. He has been instrumental in establishing financial controls and improved financial reporting for the company. Prior to FOSS, Mr. O’Halloran was a consultant with Eide Bailly, LLP; a partner and vice president with I4 Integrated Services, LLC; and held a staff accounting position with Renaissance US Holdings. He holds a B.S. in finance from Florida State University.

Graham Robb – Graham is everyone’s favorite visitor… He’s our Facilities Manager. If there’s a problem on site, he’s got it covered. He’s incredibly willing to help and has no fear of heights.

Sarah Sathre – Sarah is the resident Summer Pools Director, working to coordinate the additional summer site programs around the area. From schedules and staffing to team apparel, she’s got connections and a lot of really nice looking sweatshirts. She also works with our special needs training.

Liezen Schjoneman – Liezen is the “creative type” of the group. She handles the design of anything, and everything, FOSS. Brochures, signage, emails and even the website, she sees the FOSS logo in her dreams. And yes, she’s writing this in the third person.

Sarah Waataja – The Retail Manager at FOSS, Sarah keeps our students in style with the latest and greatest suits and goggles. She can find any type of fin or flotation you need. If you see her on site ask her what’s on sale!
