Our Staff – Chanhassen
We love homemade cookies…
Chad Erickson – I spent time in the water at FOSS-St. Louis Park around the turn of the century, and after a short hiatus, have returned and am excited to be the Site Director at Chanhassen. Growing up in this area, I have been surrounded by water activities and have great memories swimming and boating, as most of us have. Now I am able to share my passion for education, combine it with the love of water, and influence kids and families in a positive way about the joys of swimming.

Lorrie Hammer – Lorrie started working at FOSS in 2001. She started at the St. Louis Park site and then went to Maple Grove when it opened. She is a Shift Coordinator, Tots Trainer, and instructor. Lorrie likes to see bands play at small venues and laugh with friends. She likes to go boating and attempt to wakeboard. Lorrie also likes to read fashion magazines and buy shoes. She enjoys working with kids because they say funny things.
Quintin Walker – Between studying for classes at the University of Minnesota, giving tours of campus, and having fun with friends and family, I always find time to play with kids. Being a big kid myself, there is no better job as I love coming to work and having a blast every day! I, like many employees of FOSS, swam here many years ago, and couldn’t wait to come back for more. When I am not falling over from a strong high-5, eating “chicken wing arms,” or singing “Tiny Turtle,” (my favorite song) I am out and about—experiencing life in downtown Minneapolis and trying to brighten the day of every child I meet.
Rachael Skoog – Rachael is from Crystal, MN and currently lives in Otsego, MN. She started completive swimming at the age of six & has been teaching swimming lessons for over 11 years. Rachael started at the Maple Grove location in 2004 & currently works at the Chanhassen FOSS. Outside of work, Rachael likes to spend time hiking, camping & hanging out at the cabin with her husband, Ryan & their two little maltipoos, Remy & Ruger. She loves interior design, celebrity gossip & Twin’s games! Her favorite part of working for Foss is that she gets to play with kids all day which is very fun “grown up” job!
Angela Sculthorp – Angela is from Eden Prairie. She took swimming lessons at Foss for a couple years before joining Foxjets. Angela started working at Foss back in 2006, leaving every summer to work at a camp and then coming back every fall. After 4 years of leaving during the summer she decided to devote more time to Foss. When not working she and her husband Adam (they met at camp) like to go traveling, go for hikes or go to Angela’s family cabin on Lake Minnewashta.

We missed the Spring session teacher evaulation, but wanted to give feedback. Our daughter, Sophia Koenig, had Jamie for Littles 2 on Wed at 6:15. We love Jamie! She was one of Sophia’s first teachers back with Tots when she was less than one year, I think. Now, at 3-1/2, she is gaining skills and confidence by leaps and bounds, largely due to Jamie’s great instruction and enthusiasm. She has pushed Sophia and has in fact been teaching a mixed level, teaching Sophia Littles 3 curriculum, and just recommended that she move to Littles 4 next session. We selected Jamie’s class again. She is really fantastic with the kids and communicates very well with us (parents) as well. Very high marks for Jamie!!

We have been having trouble this session with getting our little guy in the water. Ike has been awesome with engaging Ben and getting him to participate! Week by week Ben gets more confident about swimming…and always has a smile for Ike. Thanks Ike!

After my daughter was very reluctant to get in the water with a substitute teacher, the site director Chad gave her a private lesson in the little pool. Through my 15 years of working at four different community / YMCA / YWCA pools, I’ve never witnessed such an effort to make sure a 3-year-old still had a great learning experience in the water! Chad showed us what sets Foss apart from other learn-to-swim programs. Thanks!
