3rd Annual Abbey’s Hope 3rd Annual “Spring into Summer” Pool Safety Party
Katey Taylor appeared on KARE 11 on Saturday morning and did a wonderful job discussing the pool event and all of the event sponsors of the safety stations. June 11th was a lot of fun and very educational for both kids and parents. A huge thank you to our supporting sponsors University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital, Foss Swim School, Walser Foundation, BIG INK graphics and Jessen Press for make this a reality. Thank you to KARE11 for once again supporting Abbey’s Hope Charitable Foundation and for helping us get the word out to the community.
We would like to thank all of our staff who volunteered their time at this event. Thank you!!
Abbey’s Hope was that what happened to her never happened to another child. Please watch this video and share the message in the spirit of Abbey’s Hope.

Abbey’s Hope Charitable Foundation Kicks off summer with a “Spring into Summer” Pool Safety Party
Edina, MN – Start the summer season off the right way with safety and fun in the sun. Abbey’s Hope Charitable Foundation invites you to its “Spring into Summer” Pool Safety Party at the Edina Aquatic Center on Friday, June 5th from 4-8:00pm. There will be lots of family fun and 15 minute safety breaks from the pool every hour that will feature a life saving demonstration from the Edina Aquatic Center staff, a swimming & safety lesson from Foss Swim School staff and an Aquatic Fashion Show.
In addition to the safety breaks, representatives from Foss Swim School, Minnesota Department of Health, Edina Police Department, Edina Fire Department, All About Children Pediatrics and Aloe Up will be on site with demonstrations and information. You will also be able to sign up to be an organ/bone marrow donor through the Be a Hero Become a Donor Foundation and hopefully save someone else’s life in the process. This will be a great family event with safety information and fun for everyone!
“It was Abbey’s hope that what happened to her would never happen to another child. We made a promise to Abbey to help keep kids safe and we are ready to kick off the summer with a pool safety event,” said Scott and Katey Taylor.
This is the first safety event hosted by Abbey’s Hope Charitable Foundation and is being sponsored in part by a generous grant from the Walser Foundation. In addition, this event would not be possible without the support from the City of Edina for providing their staff and the wonderful location and the Foss Swim School for providing, their guidance, expertise and staffing for the event itself.
